I joined the Board in 2014 to assist the organization with obtaining Society status.
When a person sees a need in a community and they can help, they should.

I was the Community Dental Hygienist in Nelson for 26 years. The clinic was my vision, and I started as a founding board member. I saw the need for a low cost dental clinic in our region. Several of the current board members and I began the process of creating the WKC TEETH clinic.
After I retired I rejoined the board as the retired dental professional board member.

I have been involved in many community groups for years, feeling strongly that each of us can make Nelson a better place for all residents. This, and my history in healthcare, have resulted in my commitment to TEETH, a commitment which is an expression of my belief in sharing the responsibility to improve our community and its services for all.

Pegasis McGauley

Co-Chair/Secretary
I am a founding Board member and co-chair. I have a very long association with dentistry beginning at age 4 when my mother took me to the dentist before I started kindergarten. I had over 20 cavities. (In fact my memory says I had 37!)
I became involved with the TEETH Clinic Society because I believe dental care is an essential part of health care and should be available to all. When I verify applicants as eligible for TEETH, I am helping to ensure that those who cannot afford dental care receive the care they need.

"No person should have to suffer with a toothache.”
It is just not right!

As a board member of Community First Health Co-op since its inception in 1999, I am committed to building solutions with community for a healthier community - creating and serving on the West Kootenay Community TEETH Clinic Society Board is one of our community endeavours to support wellness for all. I am grateful to be able to contribute to our communities’ well being.

Eric Ramsden

I share co-chair duties with Pegasis and have been with the TEETH Board since the beginning. Access to low cost dental was important to me as dental health impacts the health of the whole body, importantly including heart health. Many community members cannot access dental care due to the financial cost. The TEETH Clinic Society helps to reduce that barrier by providing lower cost access to this important health care. Over the past number of years the Clinic has been able to help hundreds of community members improve their overall well-being by providing this much needed service.
